This is a great high-point to hike as a family. My husband and I hiked this with our 6-year old, 4-year-old (and 2-year-old in a carrier), and had a great time. It offered just the right blend of challenge, wilderness, and outstanding views.
Solid hike. Not the quietest place which is why i didn't give it 5 stars. Otherwise, very beautiful spot. Serine to some aspects, pretty easy for most regular hikers. Pretty killer view up top especially if theres a storm going on, great …
Oh my gosh, the views are incredible. Great 2.5 mile hike up about 800 feet. Arrive early to avoid a crowded parking along the road.
Short hike with gorgeous views of Pikes Peak, Mount Evans, and Longs Peak. Lots of places to eat or lounge out under the warm sun near the summit. Microspikes recommended when snow is compacted into ice, but not required. Bonus: Bring binoculars, and identify your favorite Denver/Aurora landmarks in the distance.
Chief Mountain is a great spot for a sunset hike! The hike is pretty quick and has a decent incline so depending on your fitness level it can get a little tiring. The views from the top are amazing, you can see vast expanses in every …
A good hike (moderate terrain) with breathtaking views at the summit. If you aren't used to high altitude hikes you should really take your time getting to the top. The peak is close to 12,000 feet above sea level and is also quite a bit cooler than further down the mountain.
Great hike! A steady incline and the snow is pretty well packed right now. Breathtaking views at the top!!!
FANTASTIC hiking spot! It’s up Squaw road which is a beautiful and exciting drive. The hike probably takes an hour to get to the top. It’s all uphill and SUPER rocky so make sure you’re wearing good shoes. I saw families hike this though so …
I hiked this on May 20th and again with my husband on the 21st. Wear waterproof hiking boots as it was a mix of snow, water, and dirt. Took about 2 and a half hours to do the hike round trip. Some parts of the trail were difficult to …
